Mark Thomas designed Phases II, III, IV, and V of this project. Folsom Boulevard is a corridor with special historical significance to the Sacramento area. The project has focused on active transportation improvements and beautification elements. The objectives of the project phases were to provide a pedestrian and bicycle friendly corridor, improve safety at Sacramento Regional Transit rail crossings, calm traffic, and improve connectivity and beautification to streetscapes to enhance City’s identity and development opportunities. Within the limits of the most recent phase, Phase IV (Horn Road to Rod Beaudry Drive), the City has implemented a Class I separated bike facility along the south side of Folsom Boulevard and provide Class II bike lanes on the street.
